2026 S. -T. Yau College Student Mathematics Contest Written Exam Arrangement

The registration for the 17th S. -T. Yau College Student Mathematics Contest in 2026 has come to an end. This year, more than 3,550 students from over 500 universities have signed up for the individual contest, and 75 teams have registered for the team contest. The participants are from 29 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in mainland China, as well as the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions, and countries such as the United States, Russia, Singapore, and Japan.
The semi-final written examination of the 2026 S. -T. Yau College Student Mathematics Contest will be held on May 16th and 17th (Beijing Time) . The exam questions are designed by the Contest’s Academic and Problem-Setting Committee. The subjects include Analysis and Differential Equations, Probability and Statistics, Geometry and Topology, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Algebra, Number Theory and Combinatorics, and Mathematical Physics. The examination duration for each subject is 2 hours.

The team contest score is the sum of each team member’s individual exam results in the corresponding subjects.
